iPhone X vs iPhone 13 Pro Max Comparison

Do 4 years make a difference? Comparing the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the iPhone X.

The iPhone X was a thing of beauty when it was released, people fell in love with its edge-to-edge OLED screen and sleek appearance. Fast forward 4 years and that’s now the norm for an iPhone (except perhaps the iPhone SE). So what else does the iPhone 13 Pro Max offer and which is the best phone for you?

iPhone X – the first of its kind

Being the first of its kind gave the iPhone X a wow factor we haven’t seen since. The 5.8-inch screen was a delight and OLED meant the sharpest, brightest, most accurate images yet. Gamers and Netflix fans were content. All of this still holds, but the iPhone 13 Pro Max has the same screen and has taken things up a notch. For starters it’s even bigger, it has a 6.7-inch screen. It’s not just the screen though, the iPhone 13 Pro is bigger all over and heavier, and that’s not always an advantage, the narrower, lighter iPhone X will be much better for some people. In numbers, the iPhone X is 143.6 x 70.9 mm and weighs 174 g, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max is 160.8 x 78.1 mm and weighs 240 g. That’s a pretty big weight difference.

iPhone 13 Pro Max – ultra-fast with 4 rear camera lenses

Some might consider the weight difference worth it though, especially when the iPhone 13 Pro Max will last almost twice as long without needing to be charged (44 compared to 22 hours). It’s also much faster with an A15 bionic processor compared to the A11 bionic processor on the iPhone XS. It has 4 rear camera lenses with 3 x optical zoom and a 12 MP front camera. The iPhone X is by no means shabby with its dual-lens rear camera and 7 MP selfie camera, but you can’t argue with that upgrade. You also get double the RAM on the iPhone 13 Pro Max, with 6 GB instead of 3 and it is more energy-efficient and enabled for Wi-Fi 6.

Which is better?

These are both excellent phones, so your choice will probably come down to price and what you really want to do on your phone. Do you want an improved camera? Do you need more storage? Do you want something easier to hold? Both phones can be purchased for less if you opt for a refurbished model.
