The iPhone X was Apple’s most popular mobile phone ever, and though it’s no longer a new model it still has a lot to offer. The iPhone 11 Pro Max was the biggest and brightest of its release, and is newer than the iPhone X, so how do they compare?

The iPhone X’s biggest selling point on its release was its new edge-to-edge screen and brilliant OLED technology. It was such a hit that this has now become the standard for iPhones. The iPhone X gives you 5.8 inches of sharp, bright, screen real estate with 458 ppi. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is even bigger, giving you a 6.5-inch OLED screen, and the same quality 458 ppi. With great screens come great sizes, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max weighs a whopping 52 g more than the iPhone XR which weighs 174 g. This makes the iPhone X infinitely more manageable. Its smaller size, 143.6 x 70.9 mm compared to 158 x 77.9 mm is also a bonus to some people who find the larger phones harder to keep hold of. Others will want their screen as big as possible.

What else does the iPhone 11 Pro Max have to offer? For starters a much longer battery life, around 12 hours more with average use. It also has extra memory with 4 GB compared to 3 GB on the iPhone X, and a faster processor, the A13 bionic while the iPhone X has the A11. Let’s talk cameras. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is fitted with 4 x 12 MP rear cameras, it has an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens giving you 2 X optical zoom. On the front, you have a 12 MP selfie camera with TrueDepth technology and 4K video recording. This is a big improvement on the iPhone X with its 2 X 12 MP rear cameras and 7 MP selfie camera with HD video recording. The iPhone X still has portrait mode and 2 X optical zoom.

While you can’t say the iPhone X is better, it’s a great phone, but an older model than the iPhone 11 Pro Max, so not as advanced. Either of these phones is an excellent buy. The iPhone X will be cheaper, but you can save money on either phone by buying a refurbished model.
