Huawei Mate 20 vs Huawei P20 Pro Comparison

Huawei Mate 20 vs Huawei P20 Pro

Both having been released in 2018 by Huawei, the Mate 20 and P20 Pro smartphones certainly have some key similarities. At first glance, you'll notice this being the case for weight, size and overall design. In terms of performance, however, there are some real differences.

Huawei Mate 20, excellent value for money

This smartphone has a 6.53-inch LCD screen. With a resolution of 1080 × 2244 px, the same as with the P20 Pro, it offers an excellent experience for users. It also packs 128GB of storage and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, while the P20 Pro offers either 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM; or 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. It does, however, bridge this gap by allowing you to increase its storage capacity via the addition of a memory card up to 256GB. This is not possible on the P20 Pro. Another notable difference is that the position of the fingerprint reader here is on the back. On the P20 Pro, the reader is instead positioned on the front panel.

Huawei P20 Pro, the photo-friendly smartphone

Although its screen is slightly smaller than the other model (6.1 inches here), the display technology it uses is a notable improvement. The P20 Pro features an AMOLED screen which is more vibrant than the LCD screen on the Mate 20. Another thing that sets it apart from the Mate 20 is not just looking at pictures on this display -- but also the camera taking them. The triple rear camera module offers a 40 MP resolution sensor (compared to only 12 MP for the Mate 20). Its telephoto lens is also more powerful, with 20 MP compared to 16 MP for the Mate 20. Its processor is also more powerful and offers you a great fluidity, whatever the application used. It comes with one of the most powerful graphics chips on the market.

To tell the difference between these smartphones, both of which are particularly good, it is necessary to look at their photo quality. The Huawei P20 Pro is the preferred choice. Other users, who are more inclined to buy a cheaper smartphone with powerful components and a large screen, will prefer the Huawei Mate 20. The latter also impresses with its long battery life.
