The Huawei P20 Pro and the iPhone X were two monumental breakthroughs at the time of release. The Huawei P20 Pro was released in March 2018, while the iPhone X was released in November 2017, making it slightly older in comparison.
When it comes to camera quality, the Huawei P20 Pro has a clear advantage with a 40 MP rear camera and a 24 MP front camera, while the iPhone X only has a 12 MP rear camera and 7 MP front camera. Without a doubt, you’ll get more outstanding photos and video quality with the Huawei P20 Pro.
In terms of battery life, the Huawei P20 Pro has a 4000 mAh battery which can last up to 10 hours when web browsing or streaming video. The iPhone X has a 2716 mAh battery which can last up to 8 hours in comparison. This makes it clear that if you need your phone to last longer without needing to charge it then you should go with the Huawei P20 Pro.
The display size of both phones is different; The Huawei P20 Pro is slightly larger with a 6.1 inches and 1080 x 2240 px resolution, while The iPhone X is only 5.8 inches but has a more vibrant resolution of 1125 x 2436 making it a more attractive phone for viewing than the Huawei P20 Pro. Both phones only come in two colours each; Huawei available in only black and gold, whilst the iPhone X available in only space grey and silver. Regarding storage capacity, both phones are available with a minimum of 64GB and a maximum of 256GB, but the Huawei at least offers a middle option of 128GB too, while the iPhone X does not.
In terms of chipset and processor speed, the two devices have different chipsets; The Huawei P20 Pro uses Kirin 970 octa-core processor clocked at 2 .4 GHz whereas Apple’s A11 Bionic chip powers up their device clocked at 2 .39 GH , making them almost equal in this aspect. Both phones have differing RAM capacity; Huawei P20 Pro with at least 6GB RAM, and the iPhone X only half of that, regardless of the difference, both are enough for multitasking purposes but arguably it should be smoother on the Huawei. Lastly, they both run on different operating systems; Android 8 Oreo on the Huawei P20 Pro vs iOS 11 (up to iOS 16.3) on Apple’s device respectively.
In terms of design, as mentioned there is a slight height difference, but this also means the weight is reflective of the size with the Huawei P20 Pro weighing heavier at 180 g whereas the iPhone X weighs less at 174 g.
Based on the evidence above, it seems you’re likely to get more value from the Huawei P20 Pro based on the impressive camera set-up, internal storage capacity options, and longer battery life. Only thing it didn’t trump the iPhone X on was the display resolution.
