Does the iPhone XS rival the iPhone 12 Pro?

A first glance, the iPhone XS and the iPhone 12 Pro don’t look all that different, so how do they compare, and which phone is better? Hint: it depends on what you’re looking for and whether you want to pay the iPhone 12 Pro price.

iPhone XS -  a gorgeous screen, long battery life, and good cameras

The iPhone 12 Pro has a ceramic shield, meaning it’s more durable and better protected than the iPhone XS. It also wins hands down in terms of processing speed, and memory. It runs on an A14 bionic chip compared to A12 on the iPhone XS and it has 50% more RAM plus 6 GB compared to 3 GB. You also get around 7 hours more battery life. As for cameras, you get 4 x 12 MP with 2X optical zoom and an ultra-wide lens at the rear, and a 7MP camera at the front with 4K video recording capabilities. This model is also enabled for Wi-Fi 6.

Which should I buy?

The size, weight, and screen differences are almost imperceptible on these two phones, so none of those points should factor into your decision. If you want the latest camera, more speed, or longer battery life, get the iPhone 12 Pro, otherwise, get the iPhone XS. Both models can be bought for around a third less than the market price if you buy refurbished, and it’s good for the environment too.
